The Gospel Chicken House Band

Ducky Weeks

Ducky started playing the trumpet at age 10 and should be a lot better now at 58 than he is but he has fun at it. (These are in Ducky's words ... anyone that's ever heard him know he's great!) He played in top 40 bands starting at age 15 to 28 years old, this is when he started playing for JESUS. I've played 3 years in the Richmond Youth Symphony and one year in the Petersburg Symphony. Now I enjoy playing at the Gospel Chicken House, Retirement Homes, Churches, Streets and any place I can to people that can enjoy the sound of a trumpet that is played to GOD.

Harold Weeks

Harold began playing the trombone when he was 10 years old. His elementary school music teacher was so impressed with his ability that Harold played in the elementary, middle school, and high school band! He was the smallest player marching with the Thomas Dale Knights! His most memorable experience was playing in Richard Nixon’s Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington, D.C. Harold also plays the base guitar, harmonica, and is currently working on mastering the baritone. In addition to the GCHB, Harold and his family attend the Salvation Army Church in Richmond where he plays in the band.  Harold enjoys fishing and is Vice-President of “Ben’s Den”, a fishing club on the beautiful James River. Harold enjoys spending time with his wife, Teresa, and their six children, all who live in the Richmond/Chesterfield area.

Jeff Farrier

Jeff is originally from Baltimore, MD; began playing piano around age 9 He graduated from York College of Pennsylvania w/Associate of Arts Degree, May 1983 (music major w/radio minor). He has served as Church Musician at Shalom Baptist Church [Mechanicsville, VA], since Nov. 1987 and joined the Gospel Chicken House Band in early 1998. Jeff married Angela Miller, 5/28/05; and they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Emma Noelle Farrier who was born on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2006

Ramona Beam

UPDATE:  Ramona is no longer an active member of the Gospel Chicken House Band.  She has transfered to Africa and is now a missionary.  Please keep Ramona in your prayers.  We hope she will come back and visit soon!  You can stay in contact Ramona on her facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/ramona.beam

Original Bio - Ramona joined the band in 2000, when she first met Ducky and Susan in the process of buying their house. I first started singing on Tuesday nights when the band played in nursing homes, with an occasional Saturday at the Chickenhouse, then began coming to the Chickenhouse regularly after her husband passed away in February 2002. Ramona has three children, Charlie, Jesse, and Rachel. Charlie lives in Richmond with his faithful dog, Max. Jesse is currently serving with the United States Marine Corp in Iraq, and Rachel still lives at home and is currently a senior at Manchester High School. Ramona is a member of Woolridge Road Church in Moseley, VA (Southern Baptist), where she plays in the Praise Band, lead an adult small group bible study, and work on a limited basis with the singles ministry.

Susan Weeks

Ducky's devoted wife fills in on the bass drum. Susan also plans the mission trips and organizes them each year as the band continues to minister to various areas throughout the country.

The Gospel Chicken

The Gospel Chicken arrived on the scene from Canada in 2002. The chicken has made many appearances at the Gospel Chicken House and other functions for the Lord. Their have been numerous people that have been the Gospel Chicken over the years. Some were female, male, tall, short, thin, and not so thin. In any case, the Chicken is greatly loved wherever she goes. The same person has been the chicken for over three years now. She travels around with the Gospel Chicken House Band to different performances, mission trips, revivals, and yes, sometimes she makes it to the Gospel Chicken House on Saturday Nights. She hopes to see a lot more of her friends soon. She has had some health issues since 2006. Her head had to go into the hospital for repairs, but she seems to be doing fine at this time. The chicken is loved by young and old. The chicken also loves the people that she comes in contact with. She enjoys brightening someone’s day with a handshake, touch on the arm, and yes even a dance now and then.
